Matchbox opening at Bethesda Row today
Matchbox will open its newest restaurant at Bethesda Row today. After several nights of training staff with a packed house of invited guests, the restaurant was empty except for employees Friday night. That will change today, as large crowds are expected for the grand opening at the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Elm Street.
Large crowds expected? Great reason to visit Rockville location. Cozy booths and plenty of free parking right out front. Will never, ever go to those location. Bethesda Row equals madness.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile waiting for Dyer to show the King of "insert irrelevant african nation" his Campfire Pumpkin Spice Marshmallows Review
ReplyDeleteWonder if reporting a press release first is something that could be nominated for a local journalism award?
ReplyDelete"I reported the press release of a chain restaurant first!" lol
Local Edward R. Murrow Award coming right up!
Walked by during the art fair on Saturday, and it was packed to the gills, doors and windows open to the street. A very appealing restaurant. Should be a real hit.
ReplyDeleteI’m sure you were invited. So tell us how it was. What did you order?
ReplyDelete5:23: At least you posted it on the right blog this time. LOL
ReplyDeleteBB reported the schedule of the opening Friday morning and reported on the actual opening Saturday evening, with photos of the happy customers.
ReplyDeleteI always thought the pizza was overrated at Matchbox- average but not as good as a place that supposedly focuses on pizza should be. I'll give this location a shot. Wondering how the burgers are.
ReplyDeleteCloses early, so not a good sports viewing destination. Wouldn't have worked for those Dodgers-Nationals west coast games for sure.
6:57 AM I'm assuming the unhappy older couple pictured at Matchbox in the Bethesda Magazine article yesterday are the writer's parents? Either that, or their expression is WTF is this guy taking my picture?
