McRib is back in Bethesda

McRib is back in Bethesda! McDonald's legendary sandwich, one of a handful of fast food items to earn my 6 star rating (out of 5 stars), has returned to Montgomery County and Maryland for the first time in seven years. I hadn't had a McRib since 2012, and am pleased to report they are just as good as they were in the past. Watch my detailed review of McRib 2019, and find the McRib nearest you using the official McRib locator. Many thanks to McDonald's and the local franchise for listening to their loyal customers and bringing back McRib!

What additional context does Photo #4 provide, that Photos #1 and #3 do not?

  2. 8:37: Check your monitor/phone screen settings. It's a totally different angle and view of the sandwich.

  5. 9:12: Carpetbagger giving yourself away as usual. The Bethesda location isn't open very late - it closes at midnight.

For people who have real day jobs it is late. Since people say you have zero social life and no job people suppose it is wake up time for you.

Midnight is late. For the ones not 24 hours the closing time is usually between 9-midnight. Maybe 5AM in Ibiza.

We need a Micky Dee's downtown again. The one torn down for that ill constructed office building in east Bethesda is missed.

One day it will get you all. It'll be back, you'll anxiusly take your first bite and your first thought will be "really? I've been waiting for this?? Oh no." You'll sigh, then remember Shamrock Shakes are only a few months away, and feel the the joy starting to build.

The only reason I wake up each day is for that sweet sweet Mcrib sauce.

Apart from working the graveyard shift, or being an alcoholic searching for a bar, what reason would anyone have to be awake and outside after midnight on a weekday?

In addition to the one that used to be on East-West Highway, the restaurant at Spring Center was torn down last year and the restaurant in Walter Reed was converted to Wendy's a few years back.

10:09AM - You could have a pregnant wife at home who wakes up and HAS TO HAVE McDonald's fries and strawberry shake after 12AM. HAS TO. You might even have to find one with a working shake machine. Not that anything like that has ever happened to me.

Dyer @ 8:51 AM - I agree that Photo #4 gives a slightly better view of the right-most pickle on that sandwich than Photo #1. But other than that, what?

    I agree with 10:09 AM.

In fact, why should any place be open after 9pm on a weeknight? No reason for anyone to be "awake and outside" after 9 on a weeknight. They should be at home. lol.

Wonder if BTB realizes that this carpetbagger (9:12)) has been in DC since the early 80's when he was a kid at Wood Acres Elementary School? Back then we were excited when McDonalds would offer the $0.33 Quarter Pounder special weekend.

How long will it be available? Is this like a week-long thing or it'll be here until Christmas? Headed out of the country tomorrow on business for a while.

LMAO at Poor Crazy Dyer calling someone a "Carpetbagger" for not knowing the drive-thru hours at the Westbard McDonald's.

The Westbard McDonald's is the fourth-holiest site in Islam.

11:51 AM It is the only McDonald's in Bethesda...the only of the main fast food restaurants in Bethesda I believe (I'm not including the Naval base).

Given how busy it is, I'm surprised there aren't more drive thru restaurants in town.

I think you need a shot of the deconstructed sandwich, with a view of the patty itself, in all of its rib-shaped saucy goodness. Let's see an update the next time you eat a pair!

  21. 11:50: It should be available through the end of October, or while supplies last. It used to be December, and they were usually gone by the first week of January.

I just tried the 2 for $5 promo for McRibs on your suggestion. Wow that was disgusting. I ate half of one and threw the other one away.

  24. 7:56: Hard to believe, considering that every time I've gone by since last Thursday, they claim they're all out of McRibs.
