We're starting to see how monumental these buildings will be as they reach peak height during construction.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this and the link to their new website. The bridge on this building is going to be very unique. I’m not quite sure about the interior design choices. I thought the sleek tower would have more refined interior spaces and finishes. The renderings show some very odd combinations of materials and furniture. They seem to be trying very hard to be cool. Perhaps the finished product will look better.
ReplyDeleteIt’s amazing that the building is scheduled to open for tenants in the fall of next year, when the upper third of the building is not even built yet. I believe they are currently pouring the 20th floor of a 30 story building, including the mechanical penthouse. This approximately 360’ tall high-rise, as measured from the Capital Crescent Civic Green side (including the tall penthouse at the top and the Purple Line Station at the base) will really transform the downtown Bethesda skyline. It will be about 110’ taller than the existing 19 story tall Chevy Chase Bank towers that are listed as being 250’ tall on Emporis.com.
That two story high glass clad bridge on the 28th story that connects the two towers is going to be very interesting, and create a very iconic portal. Perhaps a bit like Bethesda’s version off the Petronas Towers.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the walkway at Dover International Speedway, but without the cars racing underneath at 160mph.
ReplyDeleteThey used the image of the same black man twice? LOL
ReplyDelete6:48 Maybe the black man has a twin brother?
