Golden Needle closing in Bethesda
Golden Needle, a tailoring and tuxedo rental business at 8000 Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda, is closing. A closing sale is now underway. The shop is one business that is on the site of the future Artena Bethesda development. That project, originally scheduled for a 2021 delivery, has been delayed for some time now.
Out for a walk a few months ago, I saw a crew painting the west elevation of some of the older shops in that block. Not a good sign that the Artena is about to break ground soon. It seems like the 7001 Woodmont building by JBG Smith is taking forever to finish. It seems like they are trying to time the completion to hit the market in a post COVID-19 environment.
ReplyDelete9:54: Good observation. Also, as someone commented on my Twitter post, there has probably been much less need for tailoring during the pandemic. It certainly would help Orangetheory to wait for the end of Covid restrictions at 8001 Woodmont.
