Mystery Chevy Chase grocery store taking on Amazon Fresh design cues

It's not exactly a Sherlock Holmes-level mystery at this point. But, officially, no confirmation of the new grocery tenant at the Collection at Chevy Chase in Friendship Heights has been given publicly. Amazon has been the rumored retailer for some time, and I previously was able to exclusively confirm that an Office Depot on Shady Grove Road was going to become an Amazon Fresh store. However, construction progress at the Chevy Chase site is now all but confirming this will be an Amazon Fresh store, as the facade design cues are clearly for that brand.

Of course it's going to be Amazon. There would be no other grocer that would be silent and have no signs displayed saying "Large Grocery Chain Coming Soon". So, you know it won't be a Teeter or any of the others. Can't wait. I don't get down that way that much. But, game changer.

I live across the street. It has been under construction for over a year and is 3 stories inside.
I have to assume it is a missile base because what could take over a year for a retail establishment.
If I was the construction manager I would give the owners a kiss because there are many people working and nothing is getting finished.
It is all open studs and wires.
Perhaps it is a Amazon Pot Shop. That would make sense.
Throw the building down and reconstruct it and that takes 90 days.
One Final thought- Jeff Bezos probably needs a Maryland address so it might his mail facility. His largest home in DC is probably not adequate.
Since there is a Censor I'm sure this won't be posted so screw Bezos and his Elite Company.I never buy anything from Amazon or WholeFoods. They are monsters that ruin the country.

Robert is correct. The exterior finishes exactly match other Amazon Fresh markets. You will soon see some lime green accents and the entrance and liimw green signage. They utilize very high-tech shopping carts with big touch screens and sensors that scan and weigh items placed in your cart, charged directly to your Amazon account. Amazon Prime members get free personal shopper service and free delivery if they order on line, or you can pick up at the store. They offer a wider array of products compared to Whole Foods.
