Little Falls Parkway in Bethesda will close to automobile traffic between Arlington and River Roads this morning at 7:00 AM, and remain closed until 6:00 PM tomorrow, Sunday, March 28, 2021. The same closure will occur every weekend this spring and summer. One thing has changed for 2021, as you can see here. Instead of the barrels and police tape used to barricade the road last year, Montgomery Parks has installed actual gates that can be manually swung open and closed.

Montgomery Parks installs closure gates on Little Falls Parkway

No reflectors or lights on the gates? Or are there also going to be cones and/or barrels in front of them, when they're positioned across the roads? As your photos show, the area is lit up, and the gates are used during daytime hours, but still. . . Not everyone coming up on them "at speed" (or above)will be expecting to see gates across the road, and it would certainly help if they could see the gates better, and from farther away.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke at this point this is. Gates? How much did that cost? How long will they be used? I suspect not much longer. But hey, it's not their money. Open the damn streets up. Open the county fully. It's getting old and we've been thru a lot.
