Element 28 retail space for lease in downtown Bethesda
The closure of SunTrust bank at 7535 Old Georgetown Road in the Element 28 apartment tower has opened an opportunity for another business to move into the high-traffic location. Rappaport has listed the space for lease, which is 3500 square feet, and situated directly across from the Bethesda Metro station.
I sure hope this leases to something more exciting than a bank. Tons of perimeter glass should make this a high visibility location. The adjacent recessed plaza area could be a nice place for sheltered outdoor dining. I hope the building owner realizes how important a great restaurant or cafe can be to the tenants that live above, and perhaps even offers to subsidize a deal to get a nice amenity addition to the area.
ReplyDeleteHow about a Shake Shack in downtown Bethesda? Perhaps a Flemings Steak House. Maybe a Ted’s Bulletin? Or perhaps a Big Bowl Asian Fusion restaurant?
There's already a Ted's Bulletin (sort of) in Bethesda. Ensemble on Cordell offers some of Ted's menu.
ReplyDeleteHow about a nice bakery, now that La Madeleine's no longer across the street?
ReplyDeleteIt would probably smell better than some of the other culinary options to most people living above it, too.
@2:18 PM Have you tried The Red Bandana, Tout De Sweet, Henry's Sweet Shop, all in or around the triangle, or Tatte just a short walk away? There is a plethora of bakeries in town already. Oh, and don't forget Paul's.
