A web of exterior accent lighting on the facade of the new Marriott International headquarters at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue was activated for the first time last night. It includes a rainbow array at the highest floors that is vaguely reminiscent of the Sony Pictures logo.

Exterior lighting activated at Marriott HQ in downtown Bethesda (Photos)
A web of exterior accent lighting on the facade of the new Marriott International headquarters at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue was activated for the first time last night. It includes a rainbow array at the highest floors that is vaguely reminiscent of the Sony Pictures logo.
The effect of the lighting seems very subtle to me. I imagine the desired effects will only be visible when all office interior lights are turned off. A project in Chicago had a similar system, but it included motorized blackout shades that automatically lowered at night to create a neutral background for the accent lighting.
