4918 Del Ray Avenue sold to Bethesda firm
4918 Del Ray Avenue in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle has changed hands. A restaurant building currently home to Guardado's, the 1964 structure sold for $1.2 million, according to Maryland real estate records. The purchaser was a shell company of Bethesda-based KPI Commercial, LLC. Guardado's remains open for business.
The folks behind Hard Times (I understand their old location is next door) had lots of restaurant experience but lacked a lot when it came to keeping a place thriving. I would argue that their concept would have been tailor made for the curbside pickups during Covid and clearly still. I hope a concept like that returns and maybe even opens up in this spot. We need a neighborhood place like that.
