One Medical posts "coming soon" signage in Bethesda

One Medical
, a concierge primary care office, has posted "coming soon" signage at its newest location in Bethesda. The facility will be located in the ground floor of The Darcy condos at 7187 Woodmont Avenue. That space was formerly home to PassionFish. One Medical also has plans for a location at Chevy Chase Lake. Federal Realty is bringing a different healthcare clinic, GW Immediate and Primary Care, to the neighboring Bethesda Row development.

It's a shame that this is the best use they could find for this prime location. This property needed to be another bar/restaurant like Hawker's which seems to be doing really well. Now it's going to be an Urgent Care facility, which puts it on par with a Retail Bank Branch in terms of foot traffic and excitement. Moribund!

Yes, what a shame -- could have been used for another taco place. But look on the bright side -- after getting exposed to COVID by eating at a local restaurant or watching an artsy-fartsy film at the movie theater across the street, you can get preventive medical treatment right away.

    One Medical isn't urgent care.

I've been getting ads from ONE Medical for years in the mail. They have DC offices, so I never considered them for primary care.

This new location should help crack Bethesda market. Not sure if I paid $$$ for a condo there that I'd want a medical use in my building.

Of course another restaurant could have been found - that surely was the easiest option considering the previous build out of the space. Clearly the condo building wanted to go in a different direction. I suspect it's because of resident complaints regarding smells and sounds, but it could be that this tenant is simply at lower risk of breaking their lease or falling behind on rent payments.
