Permanent signage has been installed at Tacombi, opening soon at 4749 Bethesda Avenue. The windows are still covered at the restaurant, which New York magazine declared serves the Big Apple's "absolute best" taco. Tacombi will square off against neighbor Fish Taco, the recently-opened Chaia, and the coming-soon Mexicue, all within one block.

Signage installed at Tacombi in Bethesda
Permanent signage has been installed at Tacombi, opening soon at 4749 Bethesda Avenue. The windows are still covered at the restaurant, which New York magazine declared serves the Big Apple's "absolute best" taco. Tacombi will square off against neighbor Fish Taco, the recently-opened Chaia, and the coming-soon Mexicue, all within one block.
The entire storefront looks like it is operable, so weather permitting, they can open the entire restaurant to fresh air, and create a deeply covered outdoor restaurant stall. I bet they have built in heaters to temper the air in colder months. A great idea in these pandemic times.
ReplyDeleteI sure wish the Purple Line Constructors would wrap up their construction staging usage of the future Capital Crescent Civic Green so the county could build out the urban park. A large public plaza will create a great urban open space, almost like a permanent version of the very popular Streatery.
R.I.P. Dean & DeLuca, you left us good bones.
ReplyDeleteFunny about Dean and Deluca. They are completely gone now. Too bad. This will crush Fish Taco which is decent but getting tired.
ReplyDelete@11:27 AM: I disagree. Fish Taco has been delicious and fast every time I've been there. Perhaps they'll come up with some new menu items in response, but I've found it to be very dependable.
