Kid Museum taking over vacant Streetsense building at Bethesda Metro Center
Filling the vacant Streetsense headquarters at the Bethesda Metro Center turned out to be child's play. The space is now being taken over by The Kid Museum. Signage was installed yesterday, and by last night, was already lit.
Wow that’s big news! I know that the Kid Museum was moving into the building, but didn’t realize it was taking over the former food hall space. I have read that Brookfield has requested that the approval period for the 4 Bethesda Metro Center tower project be delayed for 3 years, so this is a nice interim use for that space. I saw that they were cleaning the sloping windows facing Old Georgetown Road last week, so assumed someone was moving in.
This could be a cool way to activate the plaza area, especially that the Daily Grill is now closed.

Holy smokers! This is great. Hopefully it makes the outdoor plaza seem less moribund.
ReplyDeleteGreat location and building space for that type of project. Though I still with the food court were back instead.
