Nando's PERi-PERi has closed at Bethesda Row. Brown paper has been placed over the windows. The closure was not unexpected for readers of this website, as I broke the story that the spicy chicken restaurant would be exiting Bethesda Row this month back in April. At the time, the company said it would be moving to a new location in the downtown Bethesda area, but a new spot has yet to be announced as of this writing.

Nando's PERi-PERi closes at Bethesda Row
Nando's PERi-PERi has closed at Bethesda Row. Brown paper has been placed over the windows. The closure was not unexpected for readers of this website, as I broke the story that the spicy chicken restaurant would be exiting Bethesda Row this month back in April. At the time, the company said it would be moving to a new location in the downtown Bethesda area, but a new spot has yet to be announced as of this writing.
Not much outdoor dining and no outdoor service at that location likely hurt their sales during the pandemic. I believe the one in Pike & Rose is still open.
ReplyDeleteThey did good take-out business -- their kind of cuisine is great for that. Sad to see them go. The one in Tenleytown is still around right?
ReplyDeleteMaybe they'll be able to reopen in a new location in Downtown Bethesda? It would be a shame to lose them.
ReplyDeleteFederal Realty is killing Bethesda Row. Lebanese Taverna, Cafe Deluxe, Tandoori Nights and several others, and now Nando's - all gone. In addition to Barnes & Noble.
ReplyDelete@11:26AM You didn't read all of the article I presume. Or are you just a parrot?
ReplyDelete@1:24 PM: Looks like you didn't read the article: "At the time, the company said it would be moving to a new location in the downtown Bethesda area, but a new spot has yet to be announced as of this writing."
ReplyDeleteIt's almost 2022 and they still haven't announced their new Bethesda location yet, so that statement is becoming more of a "maybe" than a "yes".
@12:44 PM I believe all B&N stores have downsized or closed, thanks in part to Amazon.
ReplyDelete@ 8:01 AM - Barnes & Noble still has large-format stores in Rio Center, Bowie Town Center and a couple in NoVa.
