After many months of little-to-no activity at the future Tacombi at 4749 Bethesda Avenue, the company says it is now planning to open the fast casual tacqueria in March. The Bethesda location is currently still hiring staff. While the interior looks completed from a construction standpoint, more kitchen equipment needs to be installed, and the dining room isn't yet ready for seating guests. But if all goes according to schedule, New York City's "absolute best taco" (according to New York magazine) will face off against neighbors Fish Taco, Chaia and Mexicue in a taco battle royale starting next month.

Tacombi aiming for March opening in Bethesda
After many months of little-to-no activity at the future Tacombi at 4749 Bethesda Avenue, the company says it is now planning to open the fast casual tacqueria in March. The Bethesda location is currently still hiring staff. While the interior looks completed from a construction standpoint, more kitchen equipment needs to be installed, and the dining room isn't yet ready for seating guests. This place has the worst ceramic tile installation that I have ever seen. Exposed cut edges, huge gaps and cracks, and irregular spacing. All corners are fully exposed with fragile edges, and will have broken corners and missing tiles in a matter of weeks. Unless they plan on installing metal corner guards to protect the edges, this tile installation will look like crap very soon.
ReplyDeleteI ate at the one in Crystal City. Their food is pretty good. Although I had to bring my own Soda to drink. I had no idea until now that the Restaurant is based in New York City. Judging from how successful they are in Crystal City they should do pretty well in Bethesda. They are very crowded on the weekends !
