Bomb cyclone snow storm doesn't live up to billing in Bethesda (Photo)

Most residents of Bethesda were relieved that the "bomb cyclone" last-season snowstorm yesterday didn't live up to the hype. A respectable dusting on grassy areas was the primary result, with only a minor impact on driving conditions for much of the day.

The gusty winds packed their biggest punch Saturday morning, but didn't seem to reach the peak 55 MPH forecast. No one is complaining about that; had the winds battered the area from 6:00 AM yesterday to 1:00 AM this morning as the National Weather Service predicted, there would have been widespread power outages and many more limbs and trees down.

The worst of the storm was supposed to be west of here. How did it impact Frederick, Hagerstown, and Cumberland?

Huh? Why would a Bethesda blog care about what happens in those random places?
