The sign at Tacombi was lit for the first time last night at 4749 Bethesda Avenue. Stringed bulbs that had been installed under the canopy awhile back also made their debut Thursday night. Tacombi is expected to open this month in the JBG Smith-developed building it shares with a Chase bank branch. The tacqueria, which got its start as a VW bus taco truck in Mexico, more recently was proclaimed to sell "New York's absolute best taco" by New York magazine.

Looking forward to when this opens. Hopefully there's enough customers to keep all the current nearby taco places in business.
