Christ Lutheran Church of Bethesda at 8011 Old Georgetown Road has been completely razed. The site is now being graded in preparation for excavation, shoring and sheeting. An apartment building will take the place of the church. Worship services have moved to Imagination Stage.
Looks like a big site with the church down. I suppose with 310 units in only 6-8 stories, it needs the room to spread out, unlike some of the new high-rises.
ReplyDeleteThey should leave it like that. Grade it, plant grass and some nice trees and make it a park.
ReplyDelete9:40 - Except a non-profit, faith-based organization owns it. Therefore, they'll decide what to do with it not you. In fact, they already have and it's far from a simple park of which there are already many. And good for them for making millions on the sale and redevelopment.
