Francophiles rejoice! One new French cafe opening this weekend at Bethesda Row simply isn't enough. After the highly-anticipated debut of Ladurée Paris yesterday, now it is maman's turn. The bakery cafe will open on Sunday, June 5, 2022, an employee working on final preparations for the premiere said yesterday. maman is located is former Le Pain Quotidien space at 7140 Bethesda Lane.
You can see they've created a new outdoor seating area. There's also a strong floral design theme indoors and out. The chain's overall aesthetic is rustic, inspired by the founders' childhood in the south of France. That makes it a nice contrast to the more urbane Paris branding of Ladurée around the bend. Now I just need a print edition of Le Figaro...
