Kenwood Station is wrapping up a major cosmetic renovation on River Road in Bethesda. The Whole Foods Market-anchored shopping center has a new roofline, canopy facade, and now, new signage. They are apparently starting with the corners of the building, which was once a Brunswick bowling alley, and almost became a Hechinger hardware store at one point. New signs are now lit over the storefronts of Ledo Pizza and Georgetown Bagelry; the rest, including Whole Foods, still have temporary banner signage.

Looks really good. I have always said that the developer got greedy with this site and crammed too many retailers in there. It's mostly jammed and many pass on the WF in favor of Chevy Chase or Rockville.
ReplyDeleteNice shopping center...except for the crowded parking lot.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad that this was remodeled, but their architect did a terrible job. Placing those white lights in the soffits, grazing the cheap vinyl siding, highlight the cheap materials and warped construction.
