Westbard Square to have electric vehicle charging stations
When the Westbard Square development is completed in 2027, it will be the newest town center development in Montgomery County since Pike & Rose and Downtown Crown opened in 2014. It will feature electric vehicle charging stations even sooner than that. Four charging stations are planned for the Phase 1 Giant building, which has an attached parking garage, now under construction at the Westwood Shopping Center in Bethesda. That building is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
As long as they don't use taxpayer dollars, go for it. We've already subsidized it through tax credits and picking up the tab for repair of the roads that EV's skip.

That's not nearly enough charging stations. What a joke.
ReplyDeleteWhy are EV charging spots displacing handicap parking spots? Check out Dulles Garage 2 third floor near the walk to the terminal. EVs park there and charge for days or weeks. These used to be handicap spots. And, what happens when these EVs catch on fire?
ReplyDeleteHopefully these chargers require an online reservation which time out. Those who stay past their end time pay very expensive fines. We’ll see!
