The Maryland Department of Transportation announced Monday that the Sleaford Road underpass project in Bethesda has been completed. A tunnel under the future Purple Line light rail tracks, the underpass is designed to provide safe access from East-West Highway to Sleaford Road, Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and the Capital Crescent Trail. The tunnel and pathway are now open to the public.

So no ADA compliant ramped access to the CCT at this point? It’s going to be a slug to get your 60lb. E-bike up and down from the trail. The stairs don’t even have a bike wheel gutter to help out.
ReplyDeleteSo now there is a quick escape for the criminals taking the Loot Rail and doing a home invasion on your home. Thanks for nothing, MoCo County.
ReplyDelete@6:53 exactly!!! easier escape route for the unruly coming from dtss! Thanks for nothing...
ReplyDelete@6:43AM - There will be a level access to the trail about 100 feet away on Kentbury(?)
ReplyDelete@6:53PM - So a criminal will take the PL to Bethesda from wherever, walk to stake out a home, invade it, walk back to the Bethesda station, and wait around for the next train with their loot?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't understand the quack association of the Purple Line and crime. How many criminals are jumping on the metro right now?
ReplyDelete@ 6:53 whoever said they would take a train? That underpass gives easy access to east west highway which is close to DTSS (specifically where most of the criminals are coming from).. hence EASY ESCAPE ROUTE.
ReplyDeleteNot only that, the tunnel at Georgia and the Beltway goes basically unused - because of assaults there. Look for more of the same here.
