New CVS Pharmacy opens in downtown Bethesda

Bethesda's newest CVS Pharmacy has opened at 7235 Wisconsin Avenue. Formerly a Riggs and PNC Bank, the store now appears in the CVS app directory. Signage identifying the managers of the store and pharmacy has been posted. Enjoy the upscale environment of this unique CVS, with chandeliers left over from the bank era.

    Where do you park?

    "Park?"

Silly-- nobody drives in Bethesda; there are too many cars.

5:57am Where do you park to visit a Duane Reade in NYC? This could be targeted more for daytime office workers and those living in walking distance.

There is some metered parking on Elm alongside and then the county lot on Willow.

Perhaps the nicest looking CVS in the entire chain. A great adaptive reuse of the old bank building. So glad they didn’t put in a lay-in ceiling at 12’ like 99.99% of other CVS stores.

There is a public parking deck below the neighboring building, and quite a bit of adjacent street parking on the side streets. Lots of public parking below the Wilson Office Building across the street. Two blocks from the large Waverly Parking Deck. One block to the large public parking lot behind the Farm Women’s Market.

5:57 AM, perhaps if you walked a bit more, you wouldn’t need to visit a pharmacy quite so much…

Funny. But was that really necessary?

@5:57 AM: MoCo Council doesn't want you to have a car.

@ Anonymous 5:57, it's close to the public parking lot on Willow Ln.

  7. Are there now three CVS stores on Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda?

Anybody check if, like Target (as previously reported here), they're selling some form of self-defense (pepper?) spray?

    Last-minute stocking stuffers, @10:17?

Is this a cashless "Customer" Value Store? And if it is, as a National chain, can they do that? As long as the US Treasury right here in River City keeps printing paper cotton money, that's all I'm going to use. #CashIsKing

10:17 here- I asked not just because some readers might be interested in getting them, but also because I've never seen (but never looked for) them at a CVS. If this chain is or starts selling them, here in Bethesda and/or nationally, that says something.

@ 9:38 AM - 2 and a half. I'm counting the CVS pharmacy counter in Target as half a store.

Probably both the Wisconsin/Cheltenham (site to be redeveloped) and Arlington/Bradley (old and small) stores will close soon.

Great, just what the world needs, yet another CVS with no long-term personnel and bad customer service.

That parking garage will quickly become the most hated in Bethesda, even more than the one at the older and more southerly Trader Joe's.
