Elena James construction begins at Chevy Chase Lake (Photos)

The interior fit-out of Elena James is underway at 8525 Chevy Chase Lake Terrace, at the new Chevy Chase Lake development. A new venture from the owners of Nina May in the District, this restaurant is meant to be a more-casual version of that New American cuisine concept. This is the sort of family-friendly, sit-down restaurant like Millie's in Spring Valley, that Regency Centers should be looking at for its Westbard Square development. 

"Coming soon" window screens have been posted, and they are following a welcome trend of previewing the interior design in a way that passersby almost feel that they are looking in the windows at the actual restaurant. This is obviously more expensive to produce than cookie-cutter signage, but gives the positive impression that the business is not cutting corners, and won't on quality of the food, either. Inside, you can see that construction is still in the early stage. Elena James will be an all-day restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, which is going to be a big plus for residents of the new development.
