As you hit the road after the holiday weekend, don't forget that Westbard Avenue is now barricaded off at Ridgefield Road in Bethesda. What is now the "bottom" of Ridgefield where it meets Westbard is essentially a cul-de-sac. A digital signboard has been posted at the intersection of Ridgefield and Springfield Drive to warn cut-through drivers that the road is closed ahead, but expect a good number of confused u-turns in the coming days until outsiders catch on. According to the response I received from Regency Centers, developer of the Westbard Square project, the barricade will reopen in September.
