The Phase 1 Giant grocery store building at the Westbard Square development in Bethesda is looking more and more like the finished product with each passing day. Since my last update, you will see that the slate roof has been installed. Another architectural detail has also been installed on the corner of the building that will greet those entering the property from Westbard Avenue - a clock, or a clock face (it only has one hand right now). Facade work on the Westbard-facing side of the building is temporarily giving off a pixelated, Super Breakout aesthetic. All businesses at the Westwood Shopping Center remain open during construction.

Wow, that mural created with multiple colors of brick is nasty! The rest of the architectural design seems mediocre at best. I had higher hopes for Westbard.
ReplyDeleteSo much nicer than what it is replacing. And oriented to the street not the parking lot.
ReplyDeleteNot sure where you learned to tell time, but it looks like two hands displaying the time as 6:00 to me….
