Montgomery County police were highly visible and very active in downtown Bethesda last night, responding quickly to drunken or disorderly conduct among those celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Several people were restrained or taken into custody, as seen on Fairmont Avenue here. The effort was separate from a Maryland State Police all-hands-on-deck patrol aimed at cracking down on drunk drivers this weekend. The result was the most uniformed officers seen in downtown Bethesda since the civil unrest of 2020.

I didn't take these photos, but I was there. Nobody knew it was happening until LEO arrived blaring their horns for a second or two. They kept it quiet. I didn't see anybody running, and nobody got shot/sprayed/choked. Who says we don't hire/train great law enforcement officers
ReplyDeleteOh Caramba! Andele, andele!
ReplyDeleteWhich bar were three people coming from? If it was on Fairmont then Casa Oaxaca?
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, wasn't there an armed carjacking on Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase last night, of a doordash driver?
If only they pre-showed up for carjacking, theft or other violent crimes...
ReplyDeleteRidiculous people acting ridiculously celebrating a ridiculous and fake holiday. This is America. Why on God's green earth does anyone celebrate that?
ReplyDeleteYeah JAC, you're right, why does anyone celebrate anything in this life? People should stay at home and be lonely and miserable. That is, unless they get your personal stamp of approval. Maybe with your attitude you just want company in your misery.
ReplyDelete@2:08 - Hilarious! Maybe you should put an order in with "Uber Pig" or "DoorCopOut" for your pre-order protection.
ReplyDelete@6:29 - You just realizing this pseudo holiday exist? It's the greed of businesses who need an excuse to fleece their customers for any reason. That's why your pockets are so empty.
JAC -I presume the same goes for St Patrick's Day?
ReplyDelete6:29 dumb statement! We celebrate an Irish holiday St. Pat’s and 4th of July here! What alien planet are you from?
ReplyDeleteBoth St. Patrick's Day and July 4th are American holidays. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSt. Patrick’s is an American holiday?????
ReplyDeleteShould we tell him?
ReplyDeleteI've become convinced JAC is simply a 14 year old trolling us all. There's no way this guy actually exists.
ReplyDelete12:44 - It sure is. You may want to do your homework. Look it up. Cinco is totally made up by the likes of Corona Beer. Should we celebrate Ukrainian Day in our country as well? Of course not.
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows that Saint Patrick discovered America and that's why it's called July 4th. Do your homework, guys. Mexico doesn't even really exist and you aren't allowed to celebrate things that don't exist. That's just basic science.
