Silver & Sons BBQ is the latest tenant to sign on at the new Westbard Square development in Bethesda. The newest food-truck-to-bricks-and-mortar success story is brought to us by chef-owner Jarrad Silver, a veteran executive chef with the Neighborhood Restaurant Group. His Silver & Sons BBQ truck has developed a following with regular stops in Cabin John, Sumner, Rock Spring and his home town of Kensington.
Future location of Silver & Sons |
Silver grew up in Bethesda, and Silver & Sons combines the classic BBQ entrees you would expect with Jewish and Mediterranean culinary influences. Ingredients are fresh and local, and even the wood used in cooking is chopped by Silver himself. Along with the recently-announced addition of Piccoli Piatti Pizzeria, the signing of Silver & Sons suggests property owner Regency Centers is initially focusing on brands from independent local restaurateurs, as opposed to national chain restaurants. The Westbard Square location will be next to the Westwood Barber Shop.
Just checking: pork BBQ? Tomato or vinegar based?
ReplyDelete1:17: No pork, if I'm reading the menu correctly. For the BBQ ribs, it says "vinegar BBQ glaze."
ReplyDelete@ 1:17 - What, too lazy to click the name in the story and check for yourself?? Lamb instead of pork, this is just Yuppy BBQ nothing to shout about.
ReplyDeleteIt's important to know, no pork BBQ! I'd never search it to find that out.
Delete@9:31 that's uncalled for, be nice.
ReplyDeleteThis will definitely be a nice place to have there, glad they are joining.
Lamb BBQ, is this a joke?
ReplyDeleteWishing this new venture well!
ReplyDeleteThe menu looks delicious and innovative — this is elevated BBQ, but current food truck prices are fairly high. Will the Westbard Square location offer scale economies, or will the rental payments maintain or increase the current price point?
As to the meats currently served: chicken, beef and lamb. The ribs are beef ribs. Several sauces are available: a sweet tomato-based sauce, a cider vinegar sauce, a mustard-based sauce.
Vegetable sides and desserts look delicious.
