La Nina closes in Bethesda
La Nina by Toche has closed at 7809-1B Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The space has been completely cleared out. La Nina sold Italian made leather goods, including shoes for men, women and children. It opened here exactly two years ago.
You can hear the sound like that of a bomb whistling down to earth as rents eat up another hopeful retailer - soon the only ones left standing will be the big boys - starbucks, chipotle, etc. Maybe one day there will be a collapse of rent prices due to the moribund retail scene and the little guys could come out and play again - but I doubt it.
