The signs of spring's arrival aren't limited to Easter eggs and the start of baseball season - it's also the return of soft shell crabs at The Salt Line, located at 7284 Woodmont Avenue at Bethesda Row. Considering many people's pre-Bethesda experience of The Salt Line came before or after a Washington Nationals game at their southeast Washington location, the timing is certainly right to visit their Bethesda Row outpost. There you will find the newest dish on their menu, Nashville Hot Soft Shell Crab, which is now available at all Salt Line locations.
A Nashville Hot Soft Shell Crab features a soft shell crab sourced from Georgia fried in buttermilk, topped with a spicy house-made hot sauce, and served atop griddled white bread with pickled green tomatoes and black garlic-infused honey. Of course, you could ask them to hold the hot sauce or put it on the side, if you are heat-averse. The restaurant says it will switch to Maryland blue crabs as soon as they are available.

Love their food, not their prices.
