Save the date! The annual Woman's Club of Chevy Chase Art Show & Sale will be held from April 12 to 14, 2024 at the clubhouse, located at 7931 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase. Hours of the event will be as follows:
Over 400 works of art and more than 130 artists will be represented, in ten categories: Photography, Portraits, Mixed Media, Acrylics, Smalls, Oils, Pastels, Watercolors, Prints and Drawings, and Other Media (fine craft media such as glass, wood, metal, and paper). This year's judge will be a veteran of art shows and competitions who not only has extensive judging experience, but is also an artist himself, Eric Westbrook.
This is the 48th year the event has been held by the club. Proceeds from sales at the event will support scholarships for art students. Admission is free, however! Parking is also free in the lot behind the club - just turn off Connecticut Avenue onto Dunlop Street, and take the first right into the clubhouse parking lot.
I've stopped going there since they allowed that trailer to sell food and compete with real restaurants with real expenses and better aesthetics! It's beyond their 'charter,' so to speak and disrespectful to the neighborhood which the Farm Market should promote.
ReplyDeleteWrong Woman's group! I think you're confused. But, you are spot on about that obnoxious food trailer at the Farm Women's Market on Wisconsin. How did that ever get permitted? Its an insult to the brick and mortar businesses and a third world eyesore.
