The Corner Slice building for sale in Bethesda

The former home of The Corner Slice at 7901 Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda is now available for sale. AMR Commercial, LLC of Bethesda has listed the property at an asking price of $1,000,000. The 850-square-foot building was constructed in 1960, and sits at a prominent corner in the Woodmont Triangle neighborhood.

Competitor Andy's Pizza - or a fan of Andy's Pizza - has put an additional sign on the window of The Corner Slice, hoping to woo disappointed New York-style pizza aficionados over to that pizzeria at 4600 East-West Highway. "This is a reliable + excellent alternative to the now-closed Corner Slice," self-described "pizza guide" Rob advises on the lid of an Andy's Pizza box.

Wont be woo'd. Andy's is good but not enough to aggravate my
    finicky innards. Corner Slice was.

I'll just have to wait till I visit the NY area.

@8:10 Second that. Andy's is slightly better than some others around here, but a NY slice it is not. Small portion, too sweet sauce, just not the same. Corner Slice was Brooklyn pizza.

It's the way the cheeses are blended together and with sauce in true NYC pizza. And a crisp, flavorful crust. I grew up in Suburban NJ. Every town had its own shop with its own recipe. We like Joe's in Vauxhall, A friend swore by Spirdo's in Elizabeth. Oh well...

@12:19 guessing you grew up in Bethesda with its half cooked thick dough, sugar sauce, and kraft mozz. I forgive you, you know not what you do.
