Trustar Bank "coming soon" to Bethesda

Trustar Bank
acquired the former Corner Slice building at 7901 Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda earlier this summer. They have now posted a "coming soon" banner on the building, where they plan to open a new branch this fall. Faded scars of the venerable former pizzeria's sign are still visible above the storefront. They'd better have free lollipops.

What's the point of these local banks? Who are the actual customers? It's all so moribund.

May be businesses more so than individuals. The company I work for, who uses a couple other local banks for different things, refinanced a loan with them recently… I wasn’t as directly involved in the whole process but thinking they offered the best terms (which nowadays of course still are they ideal).

That said, this looks awkward with this bank most people have never heard of randomly taking over the vacated space of a former pizza slice joint. But maybe they’re thinking this will get them more attention.

"Trustar" sounds like it was from a bank name auto generator. Why do they all sound the same? Crestar, Truist, etc

Somebody was paid to come up with this name if you can believe it. It was probably focus grouped by some consulting/branding firm, but it’s absolute garbage.
