VÜK Pinball opening today at Chevy Chase Pavilion
Remember VÜK, the pinball arcade and pizza parlor that closed in downtown Bethesda in 2021? It's back - minus the pizza - starting today, Sunday, September 22, 2024 in the Friendship Heights area of Chevy Chase NW, right at the Maryland-D.C. line. You'll find VÜK Pinball on the bottom level of Chevy Chase Pavilion at 5335 Wisconsin Avenue NW. MOM's Organic Market founder and pinball fanatic Scott Nash moved the machines to College Park when the Bethesda space was demolished to clear the way for the Sophia Bethesda apartments. Now they have been relocated to this new space.
Pinball games will cost 50 cents per play. There are about 40 machines in the arcade, from all different eras. Titles include Creature from the Black Lagoon, Iron Maiden, Star Wars, and Flash Gordon, to name a few of my favorites. Operating hours will match those of the mall, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. If you still want pizza, Maggiano's is right next door, and Potomac Pizza is a block away. This is just the sort of addition Friendship Heights needs.
I hope they have Tetras
ReplyDeleteAwesome news! I was going to travel out to College Park but I think that location is also closed. Chevy Chase Pavilion is a bizarre place. It just shows you how once bustling malls have disappeared. That place is an eery ghost town. Great addition.
ReplyDeleteA sure sign that this once lux location has jumped the shark.
ReplyDeleteAdding to that, a new trailer crime cam kitty corner at that other lux property.
DeleteIt’s so depressing.
DeleteHeard any updates on the Trader Joe's opening in Chevy Chase Pavilion?
ReplyDeleteDollar Store just out bid them.
DeleteThanks Robert. It is awesome. Biggest pinball location in greater DC: 40 pinballs and a couple of arcade games as well. Yesterday I played Medieval Madness, Black Knight Sword of Rage, and an old game called Argosy - all in tip-top condition.
ReplyDeleteI will be taking my 9 year old. If only they would bring back the greasy pizza they had in Bethesda, it would be like Eddie's in 1985 Cleveland Park all over again.
