AMC Theatres continues to outdo itself in the movie tie-ins department, with the release of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning this holiday weekend. The MacGuffins Bar in the lobby is serving The Reckoning, a limited-edition cocktail featuring "a covert blend of spicy tequila BURSTING with juicy flavor." For agents who don't mind blowing their covers, there is a briefcase popcorn holder with a light-up Mission: Impossible logo. It sells for $50, as a combo with popcorn and drink included. Face your final reckoning at AMC Montgomery 16 at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, AMC Dine-In Rio Cinemas 18 in Gaithersburg, and AMC Wheaton Mall 9 at Wheaton Plaza in Wheaton.

  1. Actually saw this morning at Bethesda Row. Theater was nearly empty just how I like it. AMC looked packed when viewing the seating chart online. Bethesda Row does not have IMAX but the movie was still great. That theater is a dump though. The lounge where Mission Impossible was being shown had ceiling tiles and water all over the front rows obviously due to a roof leak. What's more, there was a tile hanging down that the projector caught which reflected it onto the screen. I should have asked for a refund. AMC at the mall has had a major upgrade and is really nice no doubt. But fix the damn escalators will ya? What is up with that? They're out all over the mall and for months.

The Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema is currently undergoing a large renovation, including the addition of reclining seats. I’m rather surprised that Landmark is investing in this theater, but glad to see it happen. They will also be adding a large, digital marquee on the canopy facing the future Capital Crescent Civic Green.

    1. 5:53 - That's good because it's kind of a hidden gem and rarely crowded. All I saw was fresh paint. But, boy does that place need the renovation. It didn't even seem as though the staff had any idea that acoustic tiles had fallen from the ceiling and the front seats were soaking wet. And is AI running the projector? How in the world did they not see the reflection onto the screen from a loose tile? But again, movie was incredible.
