Police respond to assault at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda


Montgomery County police responded to a report of a 2nd-degree assault at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda this past weekend. The assault was reported at the mall on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 12:41 PM. This the fifth assault to take place at the mall this year. There were 11 assaults reported at the popular retail center in 2024, 5 in 2023, and 12 in 2022.

    That’s IT. My daughters are not going to this shit-h@le mall until they pay for the security they need. This is a public nuisance.

    6:41, tho your concern is understandable, these assaults really could be anything including benign like 'microaggressions' or even misunderstandings. It's not clear if there's actually contact, which of course is a bigger deal. Imho, there are myriad reasons to not go to MM, but these incidents aren't yet one of them.

  3. Banning gas powered lawn tools is a higher priority apparently. Do we even have a police chief? Could have fooled me if so. I'd have a press conference with every MoCo leader and mall execs letting the public know if their plan to correct this and make Mont Mall a nice and safe place to ship and entertain. But, no. Gas powered yard equipment and harboring illegals. Forgot that one.
