Wyrd Ryds space for lease in Bethesda
The storefront currently occupied by Wyrd Ryds at 4825 Fairmont Avenue in Bethesda is now being marketed as available for lease. An e-bike and scooter sales and repair business, Wyrd Ryds opened here in December 2023. Bethesda-based AMR Commercial is marketing the space, which is next to the popular Z-Burger restaurant, and looks out onto Veterans Park. Wyrd Ryds has another location across the river at the Old Town Center in Ashburn.
Weren't they running an event space/bar at the space just next to it? Will that close down too?
ReplyDeleteIs this one of the buildings that the county is now considering for the expansion of Veterans Park? Perhaps the county could buy it and lease it to a tenant until they can acquire more neighboring lots for a meaningful park expansion.
ReplyDelete7:32am Veterans Park should be expanded across Woodmont Ave. The buildings and retail should stay - part of what makes Veterans nice is that people can grab lunch from Jetties or Z-Burger and eat outside.
ReplyDeleteAnd every knows Woodmont needs traffic calming in that stretch. During morning rush, it's a race track.
The county had control of multiple properties across Woodmont and now could have bought one of the holdout pieces (the narrow retail/apartment building). Alas, at worst the Council and planning lied and wasted public money to benefit contributors. At best, they dropped the ball. Woodmont Triangle hasn't seen an inch of new public green space since the Bethesda plan was enacted. And with the public green at Veterans cancelled, nothing in the pipeline.
