3rd knifepoint robbery in a month on same block in Bethesda

Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed robbery in Bethesda early yesterday afternoon, March 16, 2026. The robbery was reported in a parking garage in the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard at 12:30 PM Tuesday. This is the third armed robbery involving a knife on that block of Democracy in the last month.

The first was reported in the same garage on February 17. Only ten days ago, a second robbery at knifepoint was reported in a parking lot on that block. Montgomery Mall is on the same block, but police have not identified it as the location in any of the three robberies as of this writing. Police have described the suspects in the February 17 robbery only as three Black males in their teens. Both garage robberies took place during daylight hours, an increasing trend in violent crime in Montgomery County.

12:06, are you saying that crime numbers on both halves or ends of the PL are equal? Not to worry, eventually they likely will be. Nothing racist in that.

12:06 is what's wrong with the left as everything is viewed through a filter that has diluted the very meaning of the word. What a waste.

Parking garages always feel creepy. Like you are enclosed with bad people and need to find the exit to get away. And no one can hear the shouting...

One of these days these cretins will rob the wrong guy, one that won't be pulled into this chasm of passivity and subordination.

    3. Unfortunately if one uses force even for legitimate self-defense in MoCo he will most likely be prosecuted, especially if white.

Look. If they continue that darn Purple Line, watch all the crime from the panhandler side of MD come over to Bethesda. Purple Line is bad!!!

  5. These reports, seen nowhere else but here, are a great reminder that everyone needs to have situational awareness everywhere you go. You can't be on your phone or otherwise distracted from your surroundings or simply carrying on as if this is a small town where everything is safe and everyone knows everyone else. It is a very safe area overall, thank goodness. But you have to have your head on a swivel all the time. Sad but great habit to get into.

  6. This keeps happening because the MoCo power structure is not interested in doing what’s necessary to stop it. It will never change so long as this remains a one-party jurisdiction.

  7. 12:08 - Momo, and Marc Elrich is overseas on an economic development trip. True story. You can't make that up. They're totally and completely anti business and yet we pay for his free trip to discuss business opportunities in the county with foreign business leaders? And no, they have not and will not say anything about this crime.

We know how keed in Elrich is because he suggested the Purple Line END in 1 Track instead of 2 in Bethesda. Idiotic, from a Logistical point of view !

Police scanners now encrypted so they can try and put a lid on the exploding crime rate in this county.

10:22 what makes me chuckle is imagining all those shoppers returning with their Bang and Olufson and Givenchy bags on the PL and trying to hide them from other peeps 'up to no good.' I doubt the PL will appeal to serious shoppers.
