Daily Provisions "coming soon" to downtown Bethesda

Daily Provisions
has posted coming-soon signage in the windows of its future storefront at 7340 Wisconsin Avenue in The Charles apartment tower in Bethesda. It features the hand-written design aesthetic found on the New York-based chain's signage and other branded materials. The all-day dining concept will join Shake Shack and Dig as Danny Meyer outposts in downtown Bethesda.

  1. For people who don't know, which is probably a big number, because this is not well known around here, this is huge news to the community. Daily Provisions is beyond awesome and that's a fact. Is it expensive, yes. But good food isn't cheap and cheap food isn't good. And stop being stingy. This is a very affluent pat of the country. You can afford it.

I recently stopped in the Daily Provisions in DuPont Circle. Very busy on a weekday. The should give Tatte a bit of competition.

    JAC, gastronome extraordinaire: ". . . beyond awesome and that's a fact."
Also an expert on the relationship between food cost and food quality.
And on how much people in this area can afford to pay, and should pay, for food.
What a ma(ca)roon, as Bugs Bunny would say.

    1. 1:49 - Go ahead, mock someone who knows what they're talking about. No problem.

You know your own opinion of their food. The rest is just JACsplaining.

  5. 6:12 - Not sure what that means. All naysayers, don't go when they open. That'll result in faster service for those who know what's good and what isn't. Bethesda has some decent places to eat and drink but can do much better and are. The main issue is the sky high rent. Daily Provisions is connected to Danny Meyer from Union Square Hospitality group in NYC but more famously (at least recently) is the genius behind Shake Shack. These folks from out of town, can afford the rent. And with all things being relative, consider downtown Bethesda rent, in a luxury, mixed-use building, cheaper by NYC prices.
