Max's Best Ice Cream opening in Bethesda

Max's Best Ice Cream
is coming to downtown Bethesda. The ownership of the Woodmont Crescent building had been angling for a restaurant to fill the former Blue House space at 7770 Norfolk Avenue, and they've finally reeled in an ice cream parlor with a prominent name. Max's Best Ice Cream was also the name of a popular ice cream shop in Glover Park in Northwest Washington, D.C. for 20 years, until it was forced out of its storefront by rent increases in 2013. Its fans included then-President Barack Obama, James Baker, and Andre Agassi.

If Jeni & Max tied the knot perhaps the results would bring us a true Frozen Custard joint.

  2. I'd like to see them offer the best ingredients and the healthiest ingredients possible then Bobby Kennedy Jr would be among their fans. That's a great spot but they shouldn't feel safe against sky high rent jacking in that neighborhood. Let's get that Starbucks back open and something really good to replace Anthony's Coal Fired. That's still a bummer they closed.

You can go to Yogitopi and get froyo. It's just like soft serve ice cream and tastes better.

Is the new tenant/ice cream place affiliated with Max Keshani (owner of now-closed Max’s Best in GP) or is the name just a coincidence?
