Tesla closes at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda
The Tesla store has closed at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. Signage has been removed from above the storefront. Tesla opened this showroom in 2013. It just recently had begun to display the Launch Edition of the new Model Y. The store is still on the mall website map, and no reason for the closure has been given as of this writing.
No doubt an executive decision to prevent the mall from being burned down...
ReplyDelete12:46 - Sadly, likely true.
DeleteFunny and so glad it is gone. I was tempted to do something.
DeleteI guess that it's because people got tired of WAITING for a REAL GAS POWERED CAR...... Like God intended.....
ReplyDeleteI always crack up seeing any comment where people talk about the most banal things in the world like car type choice as something any God would give two craps about. What a silly way to live one's life, pondering what God intended or not. Spooky religious hocus pocus on a capitalist economic decision...
DeleteProbably giving up given the liberal knee-jerk violence and our local liberal knee-jerk county.
ReplyDeleteSays the MAGA parrot, parroting the MAGA I got nothing new to say, MAGA repetitive reply, from the MAGA world.
DeleteGo woke, go broke. Mush learned a painful lesson about wading into politics. He should have learned that lesson from the woke companies the conservatives cancelled.
DeleteI consider myself a liberal woke and it saddens me to say, and the maga parrot here has a point when he says "go woke go broke" two quick points, 1) the US was supposed to upskill, leaving unskilled jobs to immigrants and outsourcing the rest overseas. Upskilling didn't happen. 2) the housing, jobs, and jealthcare situaron are much worse in blue states/cities than red ones, mainly because of over regulation. Cheers
DeleteThe latest book from Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson "abundance" has a lot to say on the subject. Go woke go broke is right, until something fundamentally changes for dems
DeleteJust as well because the emotionally wrecked leftes can't control themselves.
ReplyDeleteWhy aren’t the republicans speaking up!!!
DeleteYou're just WIERD.
DeleteThe only ones who can't control themselves are the magat's and the hired chainsaw wielding, idiot they hired. What a shoddy way to fix anything.
DeleteHope it's for good. The free market at work!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing free market about it. This is "ice bucket challenge" terrorism driven by Communists who want a Marxist Revolution.
DeleteI hope they rip out those chargers he stuck in the garage too.
DeleteI don't see any anti-Musk folks trading in their Tesla's. Every other car on the road is a Tesla. Punishing someone's business just because you disagree with what they are doing is so unbelievable yet it's sure happening.
ReplyDeleteMusk alienated his liberal customer base. Too bad, so sad.
Deletethat's what called a free market. Supply vs. Demand, and there is no more demand.
DeleteBecause you aren't reading the news. It's happening both here and abroad. And "just because you disagree with what they are doing"? Seriously? It's not like people are up in arms because he's putting ketchup on a hot dog. WTFU.
DeleteYeah, Elon would never do anything like that!
DeleteThey can’t because their trade value is nothing. I have seen them being rebadged as other cars, like Audi
DeleteReally? It’s unbelievable that a guy who uses the Nazi salute is driving down sales? What’s unbelievable is that anyone would buy a Tesla given how toxic musk is.
DeleteIt's definitely happening (the trading in of Teslas). My question to you would be if Musk was responsible for you losing your job would you still spend money at his business? It makes not sense to me that you don't think a CEOs actions shouldn't impact their business.
DeleteThey’ve tried but can’t unload them. Who wants a car with over 30 active recalls? So overrated—both cars and company.
DeleteMusk seems eager to catch up to The Donald in number of companies run into the ground.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it closed because Musk is a horrible human being.
ReplyDeleteHe's saved more lives than you have.
Delete2:38 - We can't simply disagree with what someone does or says. No, we have to burn down that person's business? Every other car on the road in this area is a Tesla. Musk rescued those astronauts that Biden stranded for months and months. He gets no credit for that at least not around here. Unbelievable! The Dems are rutterless, agendaless and leaderless. So, what do they do, resort to violence.
DeleteExactly
DeleteYep, that's it.
DeleteAgreed!
Delete@7:00 AM - ROTFMAO! Now that's a funny assed comment. Keep smoking that meth dude.
DeleteFinally some good news!
ReplyDeleteThe D’s of Montgomery County don’t deserve nice things.
ReplyDelete5:04, Tru Dat, and its ok but they ruin everything for everyone else, that's the rub. Maybe occasionally they might come up with some decent proposal or bill but then go overboard and bring on other crazy horrible shortsighted and always costly cr@p.
DeleteThey deserve their jobs
DeleteThey deserve their jobs
DeleteThe Cons certainly don’t
DeleteSo leftists here and morons like Tim Walz are hoping for a Tesla stock crash. Didn't he mandate all EV's in Minnesota by 2040 yet would like to put out of business the #1 EV company with 70K+ American jobs? Got it
ReplyDelete"Punishing someone's business just because you disagree with what they are doing is so unbelievable yet it's sure happening."
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, JAC. Seemingly everywhere you look in the federal government, DOGE is doing exactly that.
" disagree with what they are doing" Apparently you disagree reigning in rampant and egregious government waste and fraud. How enlightening that Democrats Hear no Fraud, See no Fraud, Feel no Fraud. Partially because it funds their mouthpieces, like NPR.
DeleteSo your solution to "reigning [sic] in rampant and egregious government waste and fraud" is to arbitrarily and illegally fire people simply because they have been in their jobs for less than a year? Makes sense. Very efficient.
Delete"I don't see any anti-Musk folks trading in their Tesla's."
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty easy to find out about, JAC --just ask Google. Senator Mark, Kelly, Sheryl Crow, Jason Bateman Alyssa Milano have all made headlines for dumping their Teslas. That's in addition to the regular folks whose names appear farther down the myriad articles being written about people getting rid of the cars.
In fairness, one should assume at least some of those turning over the keys are doing so not because of political philosophies but because the vehicles are ranked the most lethal vehicles on the road, at least according to data, which, like facts, are stubborn things.
No dumpster in the mall now :D
ReplyDeletePeople can spend their time and money any way they want but it never made sense to have a car showroom in a mall when you can't test drive it while there. Tesla probably just used the backlash as an excuse to save some money and put it into the actual dealerships.
ReplyDeleteYou could test drive there.
DeleteImagine thinking it's somehow wrong to stop supporting a company because it's CEO and majority owner is a horrible human...? We're divorcing our actions from principle now? GLAD the stock is tumbling.
ReplyDeleteNo need for a store when every Dem in MoCo already has one
ReplyDeleteI know this doesn’t work for either extreme political ideology. But maybe it closed because there’s a Tesla dealership that opened up a few miles down the road on Rockville Pike and there’s no need for the store anymore and their lease was up. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteKeep making excuses that don't fit the bill. NEXT!
DeleteFINALLY1 Westfield evicted this low-life, immigrant for non-payment of rent.
ReplyDeleteIf every other car on the road is a Tesla, then the billions of dollars of government subsidies Elon receives to build and market the cars is clearly, “fraud and abuse’. There should be no subsidies for businesses that make a profit!
ReplyDeleteYes, he's been awarded billions from government contracts. I'd call what he's doing a huge conflict of interest, wouldn't you?
DeleteEveryone who hates the lefties here is free to move. In fact, us liberals encourage it.
ReplyDeleteYou nutjob lefties need to leave. We were here first and you’ve really ruined everything.
DeleteThat's a shame - apparently if you attack public services many in america enjoy (public parks, schools, Medicaid, Social security), people respond by not buying your stuff. Sad.
ReplyDeleteCould it be because DOGE has arbitrarily taken away thousands of jobs, affecting both R and D and people are fed up of the billionaire?
ReplyDeleteBINGO! WINNER! SPOT ON DUDE!
DeleteNumbers were down I guess, couldn’t compete with the Tesler dealership at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Need a car with really great computer? Go see Don!
ReplyDeleteTrimming waste. Draining the swamp.
ReplyDeleteIn related news; "Plug pulled: Federal funding halt leaves Virginia’s EV future in limbo". Better call the muskrat right away.
ReplyDeleteStill short at $252
ReplyDeleteGo woke, go broke. Musk should have learned from every other woke company that waded into politics.
ReplyDeleteWhen your CEO uses the Nazi salute in public, claims Hitler, Stalin and Mao didn’t kill anyone, their public sector workers did, and alienates entire countries with his far-right extremism, business suffers. But sure, blame liberals.
ReplyDeleteFinally some joyous news. Maybe a reaction to the chainsaw cruelty—or poor sales because no one wants a car that has 36 active recalls. Poor outcome for a supposed efficient expert. You get what you put out there. So happy—I can walk the mall without those eyesores. 🤩
ReplyDeleteThrilling news! Let's shut another MoCo Tesla location down - protests every Saturday at 11 at the Rockville location.
ReplyDeleteLiberals supporting the downfall of an American company, (not mention SpaceX), just prove they hate this country for their own selfish reasons. Confirms that Trump was not only the best choice but the only choice.
ReplyDelete9:39 - That's exactly what's happening. Thank the good Lord that the American people responded overwhelming for Trump. Makes people around here angry doesn't it?
DeleteJAC, you are a panic, truly.
ReplyDelete"Musk rescued those astronauts that Biden stranded for months and months." If it's so simple to rescue them, why did Musk wait until the middle of March to do it? After NASA discovered helium leaks that left the astronauts stuck in space, it was decided in August, 2024 that the pair would need to stay aloft until they could be brought back in *February,* 2025. If Musk is so heroic, why did he further delay the return of the space travelers, leaving them floating an additional *month* beyond when NASA had long before planned to get them home? Maybe he's not so heroic; maybe NASA and SpaceX were just delaying-until-March the February timeline put in place many months earlier.
"The Dems are rutterless, [sic] agendaless and leaderless. So, what do they do, resort to violence." (Pssst, it's rudderless, with 'D's) As for the violence bit, it's not a terribly compelling argument, coming from the party of bear spray, January 6th riots, and mass assaults against police, to get too pious about about violence. In my book, insurrection still overshadows arson and destruction of property.
"the American people responded overwhelming for Trump" 49.8% of the popular vote --while absolutely, unquestionably, 1.5% more than Harris got-- is not really "overwhelming" territory. It's better-than. (Just for fun contrast, Biden's 2020 margin of victory was 3x that, 4.5%. So, you know, if 1.5% is "overwhelming," 4.5% is "extra-super-overwhelming.") Just helping you to keep the perspective reality-based, JAC.
6:46 - Yeah, I need to wear my glasses when typing on my phone, clearly. That's a long post to respond to. But, no doubt, Trump is enemy number one and Musk is enemy number two. We get it. The richest man in the world and one of the smartest as well. The NASA program under Dem control was idle to be polite. Space X is simply amazing and no one could have done that except for Musk and that's just a fact. A hero of the Left who loved Tesla, etc until of course he tried to help the country by assisting our president. And just for that, all accomplishments of a true visionary evaporate like a fart in the wind. No, he's suddenly the second most hated in the nation and his business should be burned to the ground. I simply disagree with that and would heap rather have Musk helping than rudderless and feckless Harris, the worst candidate for president maybe ever. Many think we'd be much better of but the American people were rightly terrified at that notion and voted accordingly thank goodness.
Delete@646 In reality-ville where you don't reside, Trump won the popular vote, ALL the swing states and increased percentages across the board except whatever women.
DeleteGetting your news from MSNBC and The View is going to leave you embarrassingly short of actual real facts. Spouting off BS statistics of how Trump doesn't have a mandate, the house & senate just shows how the bitterness of losing leaves you unable to cope. I unlike you want everyone to find success through hard work, (trigger words), and know that Trump is your president as well :-)
It's crazy how skewed the view of reality is on the right. This JAC guy is fully confident in himself when he calls out protests as needed violence but I bet he didn't say a thing when MAGA was assaulting the capitol. The violent right being so two faced is why they get so little respect and it's unfortunate they don't feel the need to change for the better
ReplyDelete9:00 - I don't believe I ever supported violence on either side of the ideological divide. That would be sick. Check the record.
Delete9:00 says "violent right" as the left had burned entire sections of cities with direct murders but hey, without double standards, the left wouldn't have any standards.
DeleteIt takes a special kind of stupid to believe that “liberals suddenly decided to start hating Elon Musk”…for no reason, none whatsoever.
DeleteBut the same idiots also believe that Minneapolis and Portland were “burned down” in the summer of 2020.
11:04 - And the CNN reporter, on live, with the city literally on fire behind him, said this was a mostly peaceful protest. How many faced justice during the Summer of Love? Lastly, never endorsed any violence Left, Right or Center. Not on this blog ever nor anywhere. That's what you call Fake News my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm comment #75. Has Robert ever had a high count on one thread like this before? This is up in the certain ex-glossy magazine comment stratosphere!
ReplyDelete@7:53, in PoorReadingComprehensionLand, where you apparently assign yourself primary residence, it’s not surprising you saw “"the American people responded overwhelming for Trump" 49.8% of the popular vote --while absolutely, unquestionably, 1.5% more than Harris got -- is not really "overwhelming" territory [emphasis mine] and interpreted that as somehow meaning that Trump didn’t win the popular vote. In simpler, large-Lego block terms, when I wrote that Trump got *more* votes than Harris, what I meant was Trump got *more* votes than Harris. Yes, he won the popular vote, just like I said in the first place. The percentage of voters casting their ballot for DJT was 49.8% —81,284,666 (oooh, 666, the sign of the devil!) versus Harris, 74,999,1666 or 48.3 % of the popular vote. Those figures are “actual facts,” recorded by the Federal Election Commission. https://www.fec.gov/resources/cms-content/documents/2024presgeresults.pdf
ReplyDeleteI have re-read my comments three times now, and nowhere did I mention the word “mandate.” It’s interesting you chose to interpret the facts I provided, his 1.5% popular vote margin of victory, as meaning he doesn’t have a mandate. I’ll chalk that up as a Freudian slip on your part. For your edification, I get my news from a broad array of sources, none of which are either The View or MSNBC. Another balloon burst.
Wait -- @6:11 "Keep making excuses that don't fit the bill. NEXT!" You were being facetious, right?
ReplyDeleteTeslas are dangerous and a piece of crap. Endless recalls and the most dangerous self-driving vehicles on the road. The doge-bags are firing staff at the agency that monitors Tesla fatal traffic accidents ... gee, I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteAs for the piece of crap issue, for the cybertrucks alone, this is the 8th recall in about a year:
"Regulators recall nearly all Cybertrucks over detaching panels"
U.S. safety regulators on Thursday recalled virtually all Cybertrucks on the road, the eighth recall of the Tesla-made vehicles since deliveries to customers began just over a year ago.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall, which covers more than 46,000 Cybertrucks, warned that an exterior panel that runs along the left and right sight of the windshield can detach while driving, creating a dangerous road hazard for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
The stainless steel strip, called a cant rail assembly, between the windshield and the roof on both sides, is bound to the truck’s assembly with a structural adhesive, the NHTSA report said. The remedy uses an adhesive that’s not been found to be vulnerable to “environmental embrittlement,” the NHTSA said, and includes additional reinforcements.
Tesla will replace the panel free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 19, 2025.

It is unfair and churlish and pouty-faced-emoji of those nasty Dems to not buy more Teslas from The Great Brain Genius/Rocket Surgeon and visa-overstayer, E.Musk. Maybe they know somethingTrue Patriots (tm) don't: our new federal overlords announced the freeze of the $5B program that was building out the EV charging infrastructure across the country, as well as the $7,500/vehicle incentive to buy one of those rides to begin with. But by all means, whine about the richest man in history being unfairly singled out for economic retribution because not enough people are buying his deathtrap vehicles that fall apart on the street and can't be charged anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI haven't look to see, but I'm sure the lines must wrap around the block with that "overwhelming majority" of voters who brought this admin to office, all of them lined up to spend their hard-earned Doge- and $TRUMP-coins on one of the Muskmobiles. No? None? Bueller? Crickets?
1203/1216/251/506 are all the same TDS mental patient on full display. So much free time on your hands waiting for that next entitlement check. The funny thing is that had Musk supported Harris, they would be attacking anyone denigrating Tesla, SpaceX or Mist himself. The best example of similar mental illness is Tim Walz celebrating the decline in Tesla stock not really grasping Minnesota's stake in that stock supporting their pension funds. Nor the Walz EV mandate for Minnesota or the 70K American jobs that Tesla, (#1 by a wide margin EV manufacturer BTW), contributes to the economy.
ReplyDeleteBut liberals these days are the angry little people that set fires, (figuratively and literally), to anything they disagree with while their majority democrat-run cities are the crime & homeless stars of this country. Not seeking to help you out here but this is why the left will continue to lose elections.
1:21 - Very well said. TDS indeed.
Delete2:51 - and yet Tesla is one of the number one cars on the road. Almost every other car you see in this part of Montgomery county is a Tesla. In fact, I just passed another one. All of the Left love their electric vehicles. All of Hollywood love their electric vehicles. Many of them are Tesla owners. 100% of Tesla are made in the good old USA but musk doesn't get any credit for that. You got to be kidding me all this anti-musk. Tired of it.
ReplyDeleteTDS - Tesla derangement syndrome, you better get your vaccine.
DeleteJAC, refer to the comment far up the line here about Hollywood celebs selling their Teslas. The actors probably do love their electric vehicles, and may swap the Muskmobiles for some other brand. But there are those in Tinseltown who are now stepping away from that specific brand, as has already been documented here.
ReplyDelete@1:21Objection: calls for facts not in evidence.
What *IS* in evidence are the violations of federal law § 2635.702, "Use of public office for private gain," by both Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and by POTUS himself, in their respective promotions and endorsements of Tesla. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-5/section-2635.702
6:33 - People are not that shallow nor foolish to trade in their Tesla en masse and likely lose money on the deal. Again, from downtown Bethesda to Wildwood Shopping Center, I'll pass at least 15 Tesla and often pass them one in each lane.
DeleteAs may be, JAC, but no less an authority than Edmund’s is referred to on the topic: “According to Edmunds, Tesla cars from model year 2017 or newer accounted for 1.4% of all the vehicles traded in until March 15, up from 0.4% in March last year, according to data provided to Reuters by Edmunds. Analysts at the national car shopping website said that share could grow through the second half of the month.”
ReplyDeleteThat quote is from Newsmax, because I didn’t want to quote any of those communist/socialist/Marxist/tree-hugging news sources that deranged liberals are perennially dismissed for quoting from.
.

That you see Teslas being driven does not mean other Teslas are not being traded in.
What we've learned from 633/1012 is that any actual facts don't line up with what they've seen on The View. Even Bill Maher is telling the insane left to calm down which I hope doesn't happen. These "democratic socialists" are poised to take over the party which is great news for the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteFOFO is the new reality.
ReplyDeletehttps://x.com/Sassafrass_84/status/1893320960977039369
What we’ve learned from 12:42 is he has The View Derangement Syndrome.
ReplyDeleteFunny because The View espouses the same statistics and conspiracy theories the fringe left loves. Great news resource for 12:34.
Delete@ 12:42: Are you under the impression that Bill Maher is a “leftist”?
ReplyDeleteLove me some maga cultist tears to spice up my day :)
ReplyDeleteAhh then you'll be projecting those tears for the next 12-years!
DeleteWhy can't we all just live in peace under these democrats?
ReplyDeletehttps://x.com/EndWokeness/status/1903862809982546119
Because they suck.
I'm the Wayne Gretzky of comments! #99
