Stage opens at Westbard Square in Bethesda (Photos)

The stage has opened to the public on The Green at Westbard Square in Bethesda. It has overhead lighting for after-dark performances. However, the stage is currently occupied by four chairs and a few small tables. The stage is expected to make its official event debut at a grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM both days. Makers Market at the Square will include live music and family-friendly activities.

They should just make it into a mini-golf course already. I bet it would get more use that way!

Mini golf is great idea actually. A new family oriented neighborhood needs more than just shopping and restaurants.

Does plastic astro-turf really satisfy the Planning Board’s requirement for green space as a part of this project?! This looks so uncomfortable and inviting. Together with the rats’ nest of overhead power lines above the sidewalk (the community begged for buried utilities as a condition of project approval but fell on Andrew Friedson’s deaf ears) this is a real disappointment.

Then don't go. It's not that hard.

It is consistent with MoCo's Motto:

7:00 Let see, you are planning board critter. This green space looks like a middle finger to people who want parks.

Haha..it really is and they know they can get away with it.

Also, just a reality check, probably half or more of the townhomes and apartments will have dogs and they just banned them from their "open space"

Then go to a park instead of a community square. There are plenty of both around. What an absolute loser thing to complain about.
