Donutchew closed at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

Donutchew
was closed at Westfield Montgomery Mall during business hours last night. Their stall at the end of the Dining Terrace food court appeared to have been cleared out. The mochi donut shop has relocated in the mall once before, from a kiosk to this spot, but no signage or message was posted with any information for customers Thursday evening. Donutchew first opened at Montgomery Mall in November 2023.

Dunkin's donuts are pricey; Donutchew's were exorbitant.

Dead mall. When the construction is finally done, Tyson's Mall will be much easier to get to.

On an oblique sort of note, that Fairfax Bus #798 that runs between Bethesda and Tysons weekdays is struggling for ridership and has been unfairly criticized, imho.

Barring total shut down of the American Legion Bridge, its very fast and efficient, I've taken it numerous times to and fro'. I'm hopeful that the route doesn't get canceled.

Needs better advertising

This mall is clearly not dead, you don't even know the definition of Dead. Clearly if you've went there, you would've seen many customers roaming around the food court, and shopping area. In these past few months, with retailers like Abercrombie, Uniqlo entering the mall. I don't even think this mall is dying at all, it's on the right spot. Tyson's although is too crowded, so I don't think no one will prefer to shop at crowded places where you can get through.

Does it stop right at the Mall? Did you take it back from the mall too? I need to do some shopping and have never been in that mall.

8:28 - Not at all what it used to be and now weekly police activity for endless assaults on shoppers. The mall is indeed dying I'm not sure what you're seeing. Of course stores come but the traffic is not there and many close. Tyson's turnover rate is much smaller. It's a larger mall as well which makes that fact much more significant. Tysons is too crowded? Thanks for making my point. Tysons also has just about every store you'd want. Sorry but you're incorrect on that one.

Artisan donuts ran up against the Ozempic effect

10:39, the route only stops at MM on the Tysons run, not returning from Tysons.

You can still take metro to the silver line and get off right at Tysons mall also.

It stops at Tysons metro, and from there you can take the skybridge to the mall's entrance

Well maybe the lack of return is part of the reason for low ridership. I would have to go down to DC and up to get back to Bethesda.

It returns, just not by way of MM. And regarding compared to rail both ways on the bus are about 30 minutes. Even in high rush hour, seldom over 45 mins.
