WSSC is aware of ongoing water main break on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda

Water continued to flow in the intersection of Old Georgetown Road and Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda on Wednesday. But water utility WSSC says it is aware of the leak, and has put the location on its list of repairs. "We're coordinating with nearby businesses and apartment buildings to help minimize any water service interruptions," WSSC told me via Twitter. A WSSC crew completed repairs to a major pipe break about a block away on Tuesday, which required a full resurfacing of the block of Wisconsin Avenue in question.

After a major flood in my basement, WSSC denying it for 2 months, then finally capitulating and reluctantly paying for may damaged goods, I learned that there are 10,000 miles of WSSC pipe underground in our area aged 75 years and up. They replace about 100 miles a year. You do the math. It's not a matter of if, just when, every single inch of pipe will leak.

Maybe you should move to Arizona or New Mexico.

6:49's commentary is so typical of liberals defending the realm. It wouldn't be so bad except Rockville & Annapolis have blown through money dedicated to infrastructure instead concentrating on entitlements for illegals, defending the indefensible at SCOTUS and a myriad of DEI initiatives. Don't worry, there's already an exodus out of tax & spend MC/MD so you'll be left holding the bag.
