Andy's Pizza opens at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

Andy's Pizza
is now open at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. One reason this is exciting news is that they serve award-winning, authentic New York-style pizza. The second is, you can buy it by-the-slice if you prefer. As much as I revere Sbarro as a classic denizen of American mall food courts, this is a much higher quality product. Look for Andy's Pizza on Level 2 of the mall, in the Dining Terrace food court by CAVA and Chipotle.

  1. Best addition to any food court. Pizza is universal and Andy's is not only very good but their idea of hot and ready slices, fast-casual style, is brilliant. I never thought I'd say this about brussel sprouts but there's are incredible. With all the turnover at that food court, this won't be one of them.

      One Rockville commenter thinks otherwise.

  2. Andy's is the area's closest thing to NYC pizza, according to my NY ex-pat friends. Helpful hint to Andy's Montgomery Mall management: you'll need a much larger napkin dispenser.

Truer words, @Cinco. I lived in Brooklyn for more than 30 years, and Andy’s is the closest thing I’ve found down here to mimic My Little Pizzeria, the dear, lamented slice shop on Court Street and Atlantic, in Brooklyn Heights. Andy’s gets the cheese/sauce ratio and the dough nearly perfect. All other DC places have thick blankets of cheese, ann insulating layer of unseasoned tomato paste, and crusts as tough as rhino hide, forcing a battle with the slice to wrestle free a bite. Andy’s yields properly and lets you fold the slice properly, like the gods intended.

I welcome their addition to the mall and look forward to spending many more days in drawstring-fastened elastic-waist pants.

No more need for Sbarro's baked ziti with Andy's on the scene!

Or, if you want to get classier about it, Mange! (The Italian word, not the skin disease.)
