Strong-arm rape reported in Bethesda parking lot

We fecklessly promote this by making the wrong decisions at the ballot box... that's the root cause, face it.

3:45 in the afternoon. Don't worry Elrich and his gang of morons are on the case just like the Westbard shooters or the library rape!

Horrific is certainly one word that comes to mind. Hey Elrich voters, don't expect to see him anywhere near this story. The only public sighting of our illustrious county exec was a press availability regarding the Wooton HS shooting. Fair enough but if he is nowhere to be found on this, as he was similarly absent with the sexual assault that occured at the Bethesda Library, it speaks volumes. Failing to the bottom and everyone knows it. Thanks again voters.

Was this at the YMCA, or the school or medical complex across the street??

Comrade Elrich’s leadership on the sewer spill and Bethesda Burning Tree Squatter is a perfect summary of how he has run MoCo right into the sewage creek.

Is everyone that is blaming a politician for this a man? Women know men are pigs no matter that political stance and psychopaths care even less. It's not all men, but it's always men

4:23: The specific street number of the property has not yet been identified by police. Just the block number so far.

6:04. I bet in your estimation that a group representative of 50 percent can be all culpable but a group of 15 percent cannot be?

How about the group of less than 1% of the population and mass shootings with 4 or more people killed since 2015?

Insanity is said to be doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result.
Voting for Democrats is literally dangerous.

Restorative justice is a Democrat thing. They believe in letting violent criminals loose. Time after time this has proven to be a disaster.

Isn't the reality that some violent crime is going to happen in an area this large/populated, no matter which people are (/party is) in charge?
We can argue about the changes in the rates of crimes here, and the possible reasons for those changes, but to take a single incident and turn it into a political attack like some of those above is misguided.

10:42 - It turns blatently political because the current elected officials who are in charge do and say nothing. These local leaders, no matter their party affiliation, should be on TV often speaking to the public about matters like this don't you think? Should the county exec that every day? I don't know but I do know that he speaks to the press so seldomly that it causes people wonder if he really cares about the people who elected him. Isn't that fair? This guy, most of the time, is nowhere to be found and it's appaling. Who does he work for anyway? He's a big boy and this goes with the territory sorry.

10:42, It's about the trend... not a specific incident. Maybe if crime were finite your argument would have merit, and we all know crime moves tho where it has the fewest and least downsides, like prosecution.

The part that 10:42 doesn't get is that the people in charge refuse to enforce existing law and have even gone so far as to oppose federal authorities trying to do just that. Democrats love to talk about crime in red states but a closer look reveals that blue cities are a cesspool of crime because progressive prosecutors refuse to enforce laws on the books AND liberal judges release repeat offenders with a "promise to appear".

In short, liberals suck at governing.

C'mon, man. Bethesda is *not* a "cesspool of crime," or anything even close.
If Robert really is reporting here all--or even most--of the violent crimes disclosed by the police, it sounds as though this area is actually pretty safe. Violent crimes happen in red cities too, you know.

Rape has essentially nothing to do with voting choices.

This seeer problem is not a Montgomery County or MD issue, not matter what our misinformed President says. You haven’t been reading for weeks?

@4:41 Let's look at DC for example. There was a meeting yesterday where a DC grandmother who lost a child to violence that was tolerated by Bowser and the council, praised Trump for doing the common sense enforcement of existing laws which has drastically reduced crime and murder in DC. Like the border, it's as easy as having the will to do the right thing. I don't remember in the last 35 years of living within 1/2 mile of DT Bethesda two forcible sexual assaults within such a short period nor a shooting like Westbard yet no information on anything. We get roving groups looking into and checking car doors about twice a week in the 2-4am time period all captured on security cameras although the snow did stop them for now.

"Crime happens in red cities too" demonstrates a sad flippant attitude of acceptance. Robert doesn't actually report all the crimes, which can be found on the MC crime tracker website, which would surprise most people. Criminals know that this area has no harsh penalties for low level crimes but is a gateway to to what gets highlighted here. Moore, Elrich and the council have already defied federal law in sanctuary declarations which means that Illegals can commit crimes, drive without insurance all at the expense of citizen taxpayers.

5:18 - Such a well written post.

@5:18 doesn't Elrich give you guys enough to do besides shill on blog sites? We could connect the dots for you but actions & consequences are not something understood by the left.

Momo said...

I moved and you can too.

It's not flippant; but it is an acceptance-- of reality.
Some crime is inevitably (however harsh the penalties are, and however strongly they're enforced) going to happen; and no place is completely safe. We can argue about the degree to which penalties and enforcement, and the lack thereof, contribute to rates of crime, but it's just crazy to automatically go into political blame mode any time an individual crime is reported.

2:20 Never learned about cause & effect in grade school. If this were an isolated incident, you might be able to make that argument but it is part of a trend. Frankly it's difficult to rationalize an argument with someone who lacks this basic understanding. Stop voting for these people who do the same thing over and over expecting different outcomes.

Trump doesn't get the same latitude from the left when all he delivers is results
