Customers say goodbye to Old Georgetown Grille in Bethesda

Old Georgetown Grille
left a farewell message in the window to its loyal customers when it closed last month at 7755 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. Now some of those loyal patrons have returned the favor. A large poster board with goodbye messages from customers has been posted on the window of the shuttered diner, which had been in business for decades. That long tenure led to some heartfelt messages on the poster, including those from patrons who had been dining there since childhood. OG Grille's building is being demolished to make way for a new apartment tower.

In related news and even worse than Old Georgetown Grille, Smoke BBQ on Cordell closed. How that place stayed in business for over 14 years is a mystery and a miracle. Worst excuse for BBQ ever. Please, let's get some people in who know what they're doing. DC and NOVA have a ton of excellent food service professionals. I've often heard they won't come because of the arcane beer and liquor situation. Wouldn't be shocked if true.

I remember when it was a place to have typewriters fixed.

JAC don’t get your panties in a bunch about Smoke. Smoke was no joke and had a good run. I for one will miss that place. I’m sure you and your friends can find a nice place to play mahjong and share a Cosmo.

4:49 - Your comment is off the topic and no one knows what that means because it's nonsense. The fact is, Smoke was one of the worst excuses for traditional American BBQ for miles and won't be missed.
