Multiple structures have now been demolished near the southeast corner of Old Georgetown Road at St. Elmo Avenue in downtown Bethesda, including the former Jewelry Exchange and Bethesda Florist buildings. The resulting rubble is being cleared away. Still to fall is the office building right on the corner, where Old Georgetown Grille closed recently. Old Georgetown Grille has posted a sign endorsing the nearby Lillit Cafe to its customers.

Multiple Bethesda buildings reduced to rubble

Thank you for using the word demolished instead of destroyed. When doing posts like this, perhaps also posting a rendering of the new building would help folks a bit. I understand the operator of the Old Georgetown Grill was offered a lease in the base of the new building, but declined. It would have been fun to go to the New Old Georgetown Grill.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Old Georgetown Grill once and ordered a club sandwich.
DeleteWhat a disappointment, they used turkey roll for meat. . .
Classy that the owners of the grill recommended Lilit to their customers.
