HUNGER GAMES TAKES OVER LOBBY AT ARCLIGHT CINEMAS IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

ArcLight Cinemas' famous lobby wall of screens is now touting the new Hunger Games sequel, Mockingjay - Part I, on a grand scale. Check it out yourself at Westfield Montgomery Mall.

    It's now all pike and rose. I haven't seen any City Perch or City Sports coverage. They both opened this week.

    Dyer could of had a free bag worth of goodies if he was one of the first 100 people in line at City Sports. Guess he was too good for that.

    He only gives good reviews to places that coddle him. Sad.

    @ 4:11 PM - No, I would be perfectly content with one course, served on a plate that is on top of a table, and with flatware. No need to go all Louis XIV here. Heck, even McDonalds has tables.

  7. 11:22 Haven't heard a word from PR folks at Pike & Rose, iPic, City Perch or City Sports. Not sure what their marketing strategy is, but it doesn't sound very 2014 to me.

    2. Tom, trust me, the Pike & Rose folks know who I am. I tag them on every social media post. Del Frisco's Grille invited me to their media event, because they had a smart PR person who does her homework about who the local media people are. I had the first report about City Perch online with menu and personnel details, and tagged Pike & Rose on the tweets, Facebook, etc. So it's embarrassing if you're not inviting the guy who breaks the story about your own restaurant or real estate development.

    1. 7:30: So true - it is heartbreaking when you're marketing a town center in a highly competitive area, and a theater (iPic) and restaurants in a severely competitive market, and you're leaving the large readership of the longest standing local blogger on the table. They're literally leaving money on the table. Your quotes around "marketing strategy" are quite appropriate. Heartbreaking indeed, for their respective CEOs, when they find they paid for 2014 marketing and got 1964 marketing that left money on the table. Heartbreaking, indeed.

    If you were following City Sports you would of seen they were offering a great open day of prizes. You could of gone and participated. Why did you need an invite when ANY member of the public could join in?

    You sicken me Dyer. You are not above the average person nor do you deserve ANY special treatment.

  16. 2:38: My comments re: Pike & Rose were on target. No, Lobster ME did not "extend an invitation." I went on opening day because I was interested, and I knew my readers were interested, as well. Microsoft did extend an invite to a media preview of the store. There was no "pay to play" in either case. Unlike the County Council with their pay-to-play developer contributions.

    I follow City Sports, but if you know how Facebook works, I rarely get their posts in my feed. PR people have to directly contact the media; you can't expect someone to find your post in a Facebook feed.

    Who said I deserve special treatment?

  20. 5:34 Actually, it's Pike & Rose that needs the 2014 PR campaign. They've got competition now, and more on the way from JBG, Lerner and others in the White Flint area alone. There are going to be about 9 town centers competing for the same wallets.
