The current temperature is 24.3 degrees. Expect the snow and wind to increase around 11 AM again through mid-afternoon, when we are forecast to get at least another three inches.
Snow is predicted to taper off as early as 10 or 11 PM tonight.
Stay tuned here and on Twitter at @BethesdaRow for updates throughout the storm.
Sources?
ReplyDelete7:30: What are the sources for pictures from Forest Glen and Grubb Road on the other site? Are you trolling their comment section demanding to the source of those photos? Hypocrisy.
DeleteMeanwhile, there is no single "source" for a weather forecast. I reviewed multiple forecasts, data and models before synthesizing a coherent weather report here for readers based on my judgment. Considering most forecasters in town are 0-2 this week, the bar is pretty low.
Where's your "official total" from? Why are you incapable of providing sources? Go back to high school, Rob.
ReplyDeleteYou know, providing an actual snowfall figure from your own backyard, with a picture of your own yardstick in the snow, would be something that your readers would appreciate.
ReplyDeleteTelling Dyer how to do his job since 2013
I love folks demanding official sources. Are you all from the 1980s? Waiting for the 6pm news?
ReplyDelete18 inches here on Arlington and Edgemoor.
Thank you, @ 9:49 AM. In your one sentence you have given us more data on what is actually happening right here on the streets of Bethesda, than Dyer has given in an entire day.
ReplyDelete9:58: You've obviously slept through all of my coverage here and on Twitter. I gave you 3 totals from 3 different spots in Bethesda. I reported on the thundersnow, current conditions, openings and closings, etc. Anyone who has been following my coverage is wondering what you are babbling about incoherently.
DeleteSo have you actually been outside yet?
ReplyDelete10:14: To Grubb Road?
DeleteYou heard a thunderclap?
ReplyDeleteQuick, call the Pulitzer committee!
"I reviewed multiple forecasts, data and models"
ReplyDeleteDo you realize that all three of those categories are sources that you need to cite?
Also, what is your education and experience in Meteorology, that qualifies you to interpret such data correctly?
10:49: Not a thunderclap, thundersnow. Big difference. But I won't refuse the Pulitzer if you insist.
ReplyDelete11:08: Judging from the results of other "professionals" in the area, I'm fairly qualified. So, would you agree photographers also need to be cited, as well? Are you posting on the other site about that? If not, why not? Hmm....
ReplyDeleteRobert - not sure why people dislike you. I really appreciate your updates.
ReplyDeleteDon't let the trolls get you down. Appreciate your postings!
ReplyDelete12:27 and Weski: Thank you for the support!
ReplyDeleteLets see how qualified a forecaster Robert proves to be. In this post at Dyer-time 07:00am (10:00am reaal-time) you asserts "we are forecast to get at least another three inches."
ReplyDeleteThe NWS forecasts daytime (7-11 inches) and nighttime (1-3 inches) of Saturday additional snow accumulation in Bethesda.
Lets see how well your 3 inches fare.
1:11: That was for the period of time being discussed. I've already mentioned a total accumulation of 30" or more earlier.
Delete"Let's see how well your 3 inches fare."
ReplyDeleteThat was one naughty bit of double-entendre there, Mister.
