It appears this new location will be quite a step up from its former storefront at Bethesda Row, and its other nearby location in Spring Valley, in terms of the space.
Tara Thai had its day. It's really not that good and most have sort of been there, done that and moved on. This location, along with some other newer mall eateries, will fail. Why not put a Coastal Flats or any other brand in that company's suite? I can't remember the name of that restaurant group but they dominate at Reston Town Ctr and each are excellent and are always packed. Yet, Montgomery gets mostly crap.

DeleteWhile I agree that the food was not great at the old Tara Thai, the service was fantastic! They knew that the only water our family drinks is Voss, and even though they did not sell it, they would always send a busboy out to buy some when we dined there. I hope my kids are extended the same courtesy when they visit the new mall location.
